Junior Lauren Hapgood can’t wait to step back out on the court and help contribute to another winter season with Jill’s Basketball. Hapgood was the leading scorer last season with 273 points and has been on Varsity since her Freshman year.  The season started Nov. 28 and will continue throughout the winter until February.

Q: When and why did you start playing basketball?

A: I started playing basketball in 4th grade. I started playing because I thought it would be fun and I had just moved here and it seemed like a good way to make friends.

Q:What has been your biggest accomplishment in basketball?

A: My biggest accomplishment in basketball is either making and starting varsity my freshman year or making the Miami Valley Dabbelt Top 50 as a sophomore.

Q: How does it feel to have scored the most points for the Jills last season?

A: I didn’t really ever think about it, I knew that I was going to have to step up on the offensive end last year because we graduated four starters and our top two scorers.

Q:What are you most excited for this season?

A: I am really excited for everything this season because our new coach, Coach Finn, is already doing so much to improve this program.

Q: Has a coach, throughout your basketball career, ever given you advice that you’ll always remember?

A: A coach that I had a while ago told me to “just play” instead of thinking of what could go wrong or what the right thing to do is just do what you know how to do, play basketball.
