Q: How are you (and/or the team) preparing for the upcoming season?
A: In terms of preparations for the season, there have been conditioning workouts throughout winter. The season has now started and during practice, we will do sprints from the end line to the midfield line (50-60 yards). On my own, I have been working with a personal trainer, to improve my speed, agility, and strength.
Q: What makes this season different from last season?
A: This season we will have more athletic teams and the expectations are being set very high for both the [junior varsity] and varsity teams. Expectations are always high, but this season we are also focusing much more on developing the freshmen and acclimating them to high school lacrosse.
Q: Does the team have any goals for the season? Do you have any personal goals?
A: The team’s goals for this season are to have a winning record this year and to start to build a positive culture around the lacrosse program. Some personal goals for me as individual are to come to practice and compete everyday, and also to continually improve as a player.

Q: How are you (and/or the team) preparing for the upcoming season?
A: During the offseason, we lifted and conditioned three times a week at the school starting in December. Now that the season has officially started we are practicing six days a week for two hours a night at the new beautiful Lane Stadium to get ready for the season. Lots of guys on the team are also practicing on their own. I personally play for a travel club team based out of Columbus in the summer and fall after football season that plays tournaments on the East Coast. This helps prepare me to help Oakwood in any way possible!
Q: What makes this season different from last season?
A: Our team this year is very similar to our team last year as we only graduated two starters. We were very young last year and lacked leadership so the main difference this year will be the number of upperclassman, resulting in a much more disciplined and poised team. We hope to improve on the recent success the program has had since recently becoming an official school sport last year. Tensions are also high and everybody is very motivated since last year was our first losing season in school history going nine to ten. Thankfully, this only has resulted in a very motivated and hardworking team since the offseason began.
Q: Does the team have any goals for the season? Do you have any personal goals?
A: The number one goal for the team is always to have a winning record and once we accomplish this, we’d like to make a long run in the playoffs trying to win the Central Region Championship, which we have yet to do in school history. A personal goal is to be awarded First Team All-State honors and help my team win every way possible through my leadership and performance.

Q: How are you (and/or the team) preparing for the upcoming season?
A: We typically practice from 7:30-9:30 at Lane stadium. We do a lot of different drills, split up by positions and then we come together at the end of practice to scrimmage. I watch a lot of college lacrosse and practice at home as well.
Q: What makes this season different from last season?
A: I think we’re gonna have a much better season this year. We returned all our starting players besides two defensive players. Most of us have played for at least two or three years together at this point and we’ve built a lot of chemistry. I think everyone on the team is much more dedicated to having a good season as well.
Q: Does the team have any goals for the season? Do you have any personal goals?
A: As a team, we always want to have a winning record during the regular season. We came close to an undefeated season two years ago, so that’s always a big goal as well. I hope that we can go far in the playoffs and that I can contribute to that run.
